Whether you have been to church since childhood or you have never opened the door of a church, it can be very intimidating to think about visiting a church.  You have already taken the first step by showing some interest, so let us help you along with some practical suggestions to make your journey a little easier.

1.     Keep an Open Mind- Many people say that they don’t like church because they might be “judged.”  The opposite is true as well.  When we go into a new situation, we sometimes find ourselves noticing everyone’s faults.  I assure you, if you look for our faults, you will find some. That being said, this is a church of imperfect people that love God and love people.  If you are imperfect along with us, then we welcome you on this journey.

2.     Meet Someone- It is really hard to ever feel at home in a place unless you meet some new friends.  Avoid the temptation to run out the back door as soon as service is over.  Stay around, meet the Pastor, give people a chance to show that they care.

3.     Plug In- Church is not really a spectator sport.  We offer small groups for you to “do life” with other people and we have ways for you to serve so that you can see how valuable you are in the eyes of God.  If you never get plugged in, you will never experience church as it is meant to be experienced.

4.     Have Fun- We are going to talk about some of the most important things in life, but we are also going to laugh together.  God wants you to enjoy church.  So whether it is showing up early to grab a cup of coffee or laughing at a story in the sermon, simply enjoy yourself.

I hope this practical advice will help you along your journey.  We hope to see you soon.
